There’s no doubt about it. Bacon is a much loved, iconic ingredient in Australia - yet what most people aren’t aware of is that 80% of the bacon sold here is made from imported pork. And as we’re sure you’ll agree, that leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
So we’re taking action and we want your help.
Mark your calendars for August 31, as we celebrate International Bacon Day with Aussie bacon!
We’ll be making as much noise as possible in the weeks leading up to International Bacon Day (more on that soon) and we’d love for you to get on board by showcasing Aussie bacon on your menus.  Either by shining a light on any of your dishes that feature Aussie bacon or heroing a feature dish for the week leading up to International Bacon Day.

The Great Aussie Bacon Debate
Tell us what you think the most Australian way to eat Aussie bacon is by completing the Great Aussie Bacon Debate and be in to win a year's supply of the BEST bacon in the country.

If you want to brainstorm bacon with us, share your pans, opps we mean plans, or engage us to help pull off your bacon bonanzas please get in touch. You provide the bacon and we’ll provide the eggs, oh damn we mean rest. Sorry all this chat is bacon us crazy…

Book of the month

The Scratch & Sniff Bacon Cookbook by Jack Campbell
It's an indisputable fact that bacon is the world's greatest food. It goes with everything – from savoury to sweet – and it's just as comfortable being the star of the show as it is playing a supporting role. You can slather it in maple syrup; you can fry it 'til it's crisp; you can use it to wrap other meats; hell, you can even weave a delicious bacony mat with it, and bacon confidently takes it all in its stride. All hail bacon.
